Although it's been awhile 'The Last Dragon' was one of my favorite movies growing up...I remember seeing it with my aunt @ the movies back in day...Sho Nuff, the undisputed Shogun of Harlem, was one of the most memorable characters ever to grace the screen...His catch phrase 'Sho Nuff!!!' became a battle cry for many pseudo karate kids such as myself growing up...
Julius Carry III, the actor who portrayed this larger than life character, passed away
Monday August 19, 2008 of reported complications from pancreatic cancer...
The actor was only 56...
Carry has appeared in many roles, including Dr. Abraham Butterfield on Doctor, Doctor and the Bounty Hunter Lord Bowler in the The Adventures of Brisco County Jr. Carry was probably most well known by his cult classic film, The Last Dragon, in which he portrayed villain, Sho’nuff.
Well it is always better to be remembered for something than not to be remembered at all...It's good to know that some of this brother's best work is preserved on film and will be available for generations not yet born and to discover...May he find the audience he deserved in death that he couldn't receive in life...
