Rev. Alan Bean, highly respected journalist, civil rights activist and leader/found of the Friends Of justice Organization gave a short yet powerful summary of the saga as well as the recent trial and verdict in front of a group of civil rights veterans, academics, young people and others at the 46th Mississippi Martyrs Memorial Service which honors the memories of Schwerner, Chaney & Goodman (Mississippi Burning case)as well as the other unsung heroes and sheroes of the Mississippi Civil Rights Movement who made the ultimate sacrifice.

A Quick Curtis Flowers Summary
On June 7,2010, Curtis Flowers became the first person in U.S. Judicial History to be tried 6 times on the same evidence.

He is accused of the quadruple murders of his former employer, Bertha Tardy, and her three employees at her business, Tardy Furniture, on the morning of July 16, 1996 in Winona, MS.

There is no clear evidence, DNA or otherwise, tying Curtis Flowers to the scene of the crime.

On June 18, 2010, Curtis Flowers was found guilty on all four counts of first degree murder by a jury of 11 whites and one black. Montgomery County by the way is 45% Black.

It took the jury less than 27 minutes to decide Curtis Flowers' fate.
On June 19, 2010, was sentenced to death by lethal injection by the state of Mississippi.
