***W.E. A.L.L. B.E. TV: Interview With Sis. Maggie Rhodes About Incident***
"Never, never be afraid to do what’s right, especially if the well-being of a person or animal is at stake. Society’s punishments are small compared to the wounds we inflict on our soul when we look the other way."
"The time is always right to do the right thing."
~Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

During the Baby Ashton Rhodes Rally at the National Civil Rights Museum in Memphis, TN, on MLK Day 2014 (1/20/2014), Sis. Maggie Rhodes and her supporters were allegedly harassed and assaulted by security and the Memphis Police Department…According to Sis Maggie Rhodes, the Black security officers that approached her and her supporters used a plethora of cuss words and other expletives directed at them, many of whom were young children…Allegedly the security officers, along with the Memphis Police Department, threatened to physically remove her and her supporters from the premises even though they all paid the $3 admissions fee to get into the museum…This incident happened around 4:00pm central at the site where Dr. King was assassinated for fighting for the rights of people who were neglected and disrespected by the dominant White society at large…Although W.E. A.L.L. B.E. News was present at the rally and museum earlier that day, we left the premises around 3pm central and was alerted about this unfortunate incident in the 5pm central hour by Sis. Maggie Rhodes who we interviewed for the story…To have this happen at the site of Dr. King’s Martyrdom and on his national birthday observance no less is an insult to Dr. King’s legacy and to decent freedom loving and justice seeking people everywhere…Do any of us think that Dr. King, if he was alive today, would turn his back on a Black baby who was basically butchered by the medical establishment??? This issue needs to be addressed both at the grassroots and institutional levels…Listen to Sis. Maggie Rhodes in her own words via the video…Please spread this incident throughout your networks…Also please alert the National Civil Rights Museum and let them know your disgust in the treatment of Sis. Maggie Rhodes by their authorities and representatives…
