Yesterday (Weds. July 13, 2016) a black man appearing in front of Horne said he was sick; the man had a seizure in the hearing room. Horne wouldn't take a recess. Spectators called 911. When the paramedics got there, the man was down on the floor of the hearing room throwing up. This Horne refused to call a recess and made the paramedics work on the victim in the hearing room in front of everybody while he kept calling his docket. The paramedics apparently had to partially disrobe the man with no privacy. He reportedly died in the hearing room while Horne callously kept on with his hearings. Lawyers who witnessed the event report they were shaken as is the downtown legal community. Offended lawyers called the press and reported it. Also, trial lawyers want to get involved now that this has happened and talk about how bad things are in front of this fool. Lawyers seemed to have pointed out to the press that this Horne was the same person who messed with Judge Joe Brown. Juvenile Court is apparently taking the position that their proceedings were too important to be interrupted simply because someone was stricken in the midst of hearings.
Black Lives can't matter if we're treated like profitable livestock by the local Juvenile Court no matter how well police behave. It doesn't help either that the DA's Office is playing tag team with Juv Ct and bad police.
