The Truth Minista: We Charge Mentacide: The Crime of Hip Hop Used Against Afrikan People

We Charge Mentacide:
The Crime of Hip Hop Used Against Afrikan People

TRUTH Minista Paul Scott

Back in the 90's, on the song "Revolution," Tupac Shakur said that suppressing the revolution was a premeditated scheme, alleging that the death, disease and destruction so prevalent in the Black community is not an accident but a result of skillful planning by those who have as their agenda the destruction of Afrikan people; physically. mentally and spiritually. Unfortunately, 14 years after his murder, even those fans who are able to quote every Pac lyric word for word have not grasped the seriousness of this grim revelation.

Back in 1951, a group of activists called the Civil Rights Congress including William Patterson and Paul Robeson , submitted a petition to the United Nations charging the US government with the genocide of African Americans. Over half a century later, we see the entertainment industry promoting the mental genocide (mentacide) of Black people via Hip Hop.

In his essay, "Black Suicide," Dr. Bobby Wight defines "mentacide" as "the deliberate destruction of a group's minds with the ultimate objective being the extirpation of the group...which is so effective that their victims accept their plight as being "God's will." Dr. Wright goes on to say that "mentacide was developed to combat the rising level of consciousness and Black nationalism which threaten the process of European world domination."

This is a direct violation of the terms of the 1948 General Assembly of the United Nations Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of Genocide, which described genocide as "deliberately inflicting on the group conditions of life calculated to bring about its physical destruction in whole or in part" which can be both physical and mental.

We have seen over the last 20 years, the entertainment industry and those wishing to prevent the rise of the Black community use Hip Hop to systematically destroy the psyche of black children by not only dumbing them down but promoting fratricide and chemical warfare (the selling of crack and other mind altering substances.)

Although, there is a lot of Internet discussion, today, over whether rappers such as Jay Z belong to secret societies, there have always been covert white supremacist plots to rule Afrikan people from Cecil Rhodes' plan to Europeanize Africa to the various secret organizations in America beginning in the 19th century such as, according to WEB Dubois in his book "Black Reconstruction," "the Knights of the White Camellia," the Ku Klux Klan and an Italian organization called "The Innocents" ,howver, during the Hip Hop Era, the music industry has used the model perfected during the 60's by J. Edgar Hoover's COINTELPRO (Counter Intelligence Program) to "prevent the rise of a Black messiah that could electrify the youth" by using black pawns in their scheme.

According to Dr. Amos Wilson in his book, "Black on Black Violence: The Psycho dynamics of Black Self-Annihilation in Service of White Domination," one of the dilemmas of the white ruling class has been "how must the required oppression and if need be, genocidal elimination of African Americans and African people be accomplished by the ruling class without it appearing to have instigated and perpetrated their oppression and elimination?" Dr. Wilson answers the question by stating, "the continuing oppression and/or genocidal annihilation of the African American population by White America can be accomplished through deliberate psychological subterfuge or through the use of collective ego defensive method of unconsciously programming and executing African American oppression and annihilation while consciously appearing not to do otherwise." In other words, using black Hip Hop artists to do white folk's dirty work.

While many people complain about the current state of Hip Hop and question what happened to the "conscious" Hip Hop of the late 80's through the early 90's, very few connect the dots and reveal how the industry launched it's own form of "COINTELPRO" after the LA Rebellion aka the Rodney King Riots when they realized that Hip Hop could be used as a social, political and economic tool to overthrow white supremacy. So, the "gangsta rap" of NWA/Death Row etc, replaced the conscious rap of Public Enemy, X-Clan etc and the attempts to promote black unity were replaced with attempts to promote Black on Black violence.

Today, much of the music played on the radio promotes what Dr. Bobby Wright in his essay "The Black Child," calls "street sense" which "generally prepares Blacks to deal with one another in destructive ways and then whites wipe out the 'winner.' The population of prisons, drug programs and funeral homes verify this reality."

Although, some may argue that Hip Hop is not as "violent" as it once was, one must remember that the goal of genocide is to kill not only the body but the mind as well. Recently, rapper DMX caused a stir when, in a radio interview, he accused rapper Plies of dumbing down his fans.

One may wonder why more rappers who know better have not spoken out on the mentacidal agenda in Hip Hop. One of the reasons is fear. There are numerous examples of rappers who have spoken out being either murdered, dying mysteriously or targeted for execution.

In his book "Analytixz,"" Hip Hop artist and researcher Professor Griff said that he was once poisoned for his outspokenness. Also, writer John Patosh in his book "The FBI War on Tupac Shakur and Black Leaders" documents the plight of various entertainers who were persecuted for being too political from Tupac Shakur for his work with former Black Panthers to the Wu Tang Clan for their affiliation with NY activist Brother Abubadika (Sonny Carson.)

It also must be noted that artists who were not really considered "conscious" were also involved in political activities and died mysteriously. The late rapper, Soulja Slim , according to Hip Hop Weekly's recent Fallen Legends Tribute edition, at the time of his death had become a "community activist," and had formed a Black Panther-like group called the "Young Black Lyons," who were involved in "educating young black youths in their community."

Perhaps the most overlooked strange occurrence in Hip Hop involved the late rapper Pimp C who also died under what some consider mysterious circumstances. After being released from prison, Pimp C put some Hip Hop personalities on blast accusing some of being fake gangstas, and depoliticizing their message. He had also started a column for Ozone magazine called "The Pimp Chronicles" before he was found did in a motel room.

We believe that the continuation of the current state of Hip Hop is not an incident but is being deliberately done to destroy Afrikan people physically and mentally. Therefore we are presenting the petition "We Charge Mentacide: The Crime of Hip Hop Used Against Black People."

http://www.petitiononline.com/mntcde/petition.html

We are asking those who are concerned about the current state of Afrikan people and Hip Hop to sign the petition and in the comment section list who in Hip Hop you believe should be charged with mentacide. We must use this campaign to put pressure on the entertainment corporations, radio stations that promote negativity and the rappers who are working as agents of white supremacy.

If Marcus Garvey can organize two million Afrikan people without Facebook and Twitter during the early 20th century, surely, we can use our collective resources (youtube, Facebook, iphones, blackberry's etc) to take back Hip Hop and reclaim the minds of our people.

As Garvey once said, "Up you mighty race, you can accomplish what you will !"
