Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.
January 15, 1929 - April 4, 1968
(Assassinated)
"Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere."
If we truly believe that injustice threatens justice,
then we must fight for the freedom Jamie and Gladys Scott. Known as the
Scott Sisters, Jamie and Gladys are victims more than criminals, despite
their conviction of armed robbery. It is these types of injustices that
put americans at risk of being victims of an injustice system of
"justice".
So, on Friday, April 1, 2011, the Committee for A Full
Pardon for The Scott Sisters will again rally and march for justice in the
name of The Scott Sisters. As a tribute to the work and legacy of Dr.
Martin Luther King, Jr. americans from across the country will urge
presidential hopeful and current Mississippi Governor Haley Barbour to
recognize the truthfulness of Dr. King’s words and use his power to
promote true justice for Jamie and Gladys Scott.
If you are unfamiliar with the case of the Scott Sisters,
please google the Scott Sisters to read about this total miscarriage of
justice. If you believe in the truth of Dr. King’s words, join us Friday,
April 1, 2011 at the corner of Hamilton and Farish Streets in Jackson,
Mississippi at 10am to urge Governor Barbour to "do the right
thing."
For more ways you can help remove the threat to justice
join the Free the Scott Sister Committee or arrange to have a presenter
come to your location to speak on the case email us at pardonthescottsisters@gmail. com or call 601.353.4455.
More importantly, remember that the greatness of Dr. King
was that he challenged america to live up to the greatness that it
espoused in its constitution, bill of rights and other documents. Those of
us who believe that "injustice anywhere is a threat to justice
everywhere." are indebted and obligated to ensure that Dr. King can
rest in peace by fighting injustice everywhere.
We are looking forward to seeing you Friday, April 1,
2011 in Jackson, Mississippi to promote justice for Jamie and Gladys
Scott. In the meantime, please continue to call Governor Barbour
601.359.3150 seeking a full pardon and total freedom for Jamie and Gladys
and be sure to sign the online petition at
www.change.org/petition/a- full-pardon-for-jamie-gladys- scott.
