My name s Lauren Roerick and i am a former legal secretary that is currently assisting Kody's mom in seeking justice for her son. I have assisted several attorney's in perusing hate crimes against both race and disability. First off, i would like to thank you for providing the interview with sheriff Ray Nutt which is the only recorded evidence provided by law enforcement re: this matter to my knowledge. I thank you for providing direct facts instead of speculation. When i first was made aware of the allegations of this being racially motivated murder, i was livid because this occurred in my home town and i have dedicated my life to standing up against such injustices. but before i jumped on the bandwagon of accusers, i decided to start my own investigation. this is when i came in direct communication with his mother who provided facts about the case and her son's mental history. i am no longer pursuing this as a hate crime/racially motivated murder/ lynching. and my final judgment falls with law enforcement, investigators, kodys mother, his close friends and family. my conclusion is that he deed indeed take his own life. There is still much work to be done in the fight for equality and im reaching out to anyone who would like assistance pursuing other matters. In this particular case, the best way we can insure justice for Kody is to stick to the facts of the investigation and respect his mothers wishes that Kody rest in peace.
