Justice for Civil Rights Martyrs!
Compared to the number of Mississippi murders committed—and the number of murderers involved—
investigations and prosecutions have been a token few.

All people of goodwill are invited to attend the 44th Annual Mississippi Civil Rights Martyrs Memorial Service, Conference, and Caravan for Justice. We will remember and honor slain civil rights workers Andrew Goodman, James Chaney, Michael Schwerner, and all other Mississippi civil rights martyrs.

The weekend’s events will begin with a Caravan for Justice, assembling at the First Union Missionary Baptist Church in Meridian, 610 38th Avenue, at 9:00 a.m. and departing at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, June 21, 2008. The caravan will visit the James Chaney grave site, the three martyrs murder site on Rock Cut Road, and Mt. Nebo Church before going to the old Longdale Community Center, County Road 632, at 2:30 p.m. Along the route, justice rallies will be held at the Lauderdale County courthouse in Meridian at 9:45 a.m. and the Neshoba County courthouse in Philadelphia at 1:30 p.m.

The Memorial Service and Conference will be held on Saturday, June 21, from 2:30–6:30 p.m. and Sunday, June 22, from 10:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m. at the old Longdale Community Center site on County Road 632 in Neshoba County, Mississippi. It will be conducted outdoors on the Steele family's land with ample shade and parking. Another indoor site has been arranged in case it rains.

The local community around the site is friendly to our cause. There will be much and varied food, from barbeque to healthy salads, for attendees. Thanks in advance to the food committee.

This event will be for remembering, exchanging thoughts and ideas, strategizing, and calling on officials to prosecute all known perpetrators who murdered civil rights workers. We will also develop plans to continue the struggle against racial oppression in Mississippi. The service is open to all people of goodwill who share our values and concerns.

Directions from Philadelphia: Take Highway 16 east to County Road 482 (2 miles): turn left and go to County Road 632 (7 miles); turn right and go 1½ miles. The old Longdale Community Center site is on the right.

"America" By The Poetician Cris "Nathaniel" Gualberto...

America

Why does my homeland strangle the hopes of its young and ignore the struggles of many generations?

The civil war has been fought so many times since 1865, even though the voices

Of the dead constantly plead with us.

Our cities are filled with the impoverished and the unheard voices

of distraught old men.

Our children play in the neglected ruins of forgotten schools and tenements.

Young parents must struggle for jobs of sheer destitution.

Immigrants must face the daily scourge of racism, while the poor are mired in the squalor of public institutions.

Our children constantly cry out for justice.

The young black man ever raises a clinched fist.

The crippled veteran can only wish for token benefits.

Those who yearn for freedom are hassled because of their very names.

Those who seek happiness see their hopes squandered by talent agencies promising empty fame.

Those who would bridge the gulf between races and classes are derided by the

masses that lives under the delusion of freedom.

Yet, the latter simply delight in political speakers renowned only for their tedium.

America is a landscape of broken dreams and endless television programs of Republican optimism,

Of politicians who fail to look through our collective prism,

Of desolate retirement communities and neighborhoods infested with vice,

Of grey newspaper columns advertising mindless jobs and whimsical advice,

Of Republicans and Democrats squaring off over foreign policies and ridiculous scandals,

And of children who have been transformed into hideous vandals.

America, you are the country whom I love dearly.

You gave birth to me and to hopeful sincerity.

Why must you be trampled on by those who misuse your name,

those who are only making you lame?

Why must you give in to those who advocate only for greed and useless competition?

Why must you ever look out onto the world with vigilance and despairing inhibition?

Why must you watch silently over the uncertain fates of millions?

even as domineering corporations effortlessly spend their billions.

The world shall always embrace you as one of its own, but do not forget that she will always outlast you

and ever take note of your harshness.

Will Voters Be Swayed By Pastor's Comments?

Wright Controversy Pulls Focus From Top Issues In Obama Campaign

Trinity United Church of Christ/Religion News Service
In Chicago, Mr. Obama embraced Christianity under the tutelage of the Rev. Jeremiah A. Wright Jr., known for sometimes inflammatory views.

by Joyce Jones (Courtesy of Black Enterprise Magazine)

In the critical days leading up to the Indiana and North Carolina primaries on Tuesday, Sen. Barack Obama finds himself in the unenviable position of having to defend his role in the ongoing controversy surrounding his former pastor Jeremiah A. Wright. It is a stark contrast to opponents Sen. Hillary Clinton, who is spending her time empathizing with voters' economic woes, or Sen. John McCain, who is talking about healthcare and making a poverty tour of neglected areas of the country.

Following his eloquent and thoughtful speech on race in March, Obama likely hoped that he'd put the Wright saga to rest. Then, as the Illinois senator was attempting to convince voters in the upcoming primary states that he's not the elitist he's been painted to be, Wright implied in a PBS interview with Bill Moyers that Obama's race speech had been made for political expediency. Wright continued with a fiery speech a few days later at the National Press Club in Washington, D.C., which fueled additional doubt about Obama's views and his relationship with Wright. Obama was then forced to completely divorce himself from Wright, who had officiated at his wedding and baptized his daughters, calling the reverend's remarks "divisive and destructive."

"What became clear to me is that he was presenting a world view that contradicts who I am and what I stand for. And what I think particularly angered me was his suggestion somehow that my previous denunciation of his remarks were somehow political posturing. Anybody who knows me and anybody who knows what I'm about knows that I am about trying to bridge gaps and I see the commonality in all people," Obama said at a news conference.

Wright's appearances have indeed had an adverse effect in his former parishioner's presidential campaign. According to an April 30 NBC News/Wall Street Journal poll of Democratic voters, the margin between Obama and Clinton had tightened to just a few points, at 46 to 43.

"It's definitely having a couple of effects. One is the opportunity cost in that the Obama campaign isn't talking about its general campaign message. He's being forced to concentrate on the third rail of politics, which is race," says Vincent Hutchings, a political science professor at the University of Michigan. "Although his speech in March was received well by some, it's noteworthy that prior to that, Obama had gone out of his way to avoid discussing race because many white voters, even in the Democratic primary, are turned off by such a discussion. Wright's statements are once again highlighting issues of race and in light of the racial attitudes of the American public, that's something that would make it difficult for any black candidate to be successful."

Obama likely sensed early on that his relationship with Wright might become problematic when he chose to not include him at his announcement to seek the Democratic presidential nomination. "I think he bet on something that didn't quite occur, which is that Wright would subordinate his own feelings to this sort of wider, historical event of a black person running for president and having a chance to actually win," says Ronald Walters, a University of Maryland political scientist. Like Hutchings, he believes Wright may have motivated by hurt feelings. "He's been painted as some kind of crazy person, oblivious to the timing of all of this. But here we have a man in the sunset of his life whose total career has been really damaged by the way in which he's been handled."

The big question now is how will voters react when they cast their ballots on Tuesday? Do these recent events reinforce Clinton's reasons for staying in the race although she technically still trails Obama in delegates and popular votes? James Taylor, a University of San Francisco professor of politics, is of two minds. On one hand, he says, there will be some negative returns, and white voters who were disinclined or never going to vote for Obama now have an excuse they can point to. On the other hand, he says, the recent events "might actually help Obama because Wright seemed so ridiculous this week that whatever mystery there was about him has been removed by his own inexplicable actions and sense of paranoia and conduct in the public realm." But if Obama continues to make missteps, like he did in San Francisco, Wright could be "the best surrogate that Clinton and McCain have."

However, more people (34%) are concerned that Obama is out of touch with voters than those who are worried about his ties to Wright (34%), according to the NBC/WSJ poll.

David Bositis, senior political analyst at the Joint Center for Political and Economic Studies, says the Wright controversy is just a distraction and voters are more concerned about economic issues and the war in Iraq. He says, "Obama's problems about being tied to Wright are nothing compared to McCain's problems with being tied to President Bush," which the NBC/WSJ findings support. It found that 43% of voters are concerned about McCain's ties to Bush, while 31% are concerned about his changing positions. In addition, 36% expressed concern about Clinton's changing positions and 31% believe she's not honest.

Despite Wright, Obama has continued to pick up super delegates. He is also strongly favored in North Carolina, says Bositis, where 35% of the voters are black and there is a large student population and highly educated professional demographic. Indiana is more of a toss up, where Clinton is ahead right now, but will only pick up one delegate if she wins.

Tha Artivist Says: W.E. A.L.L. B.E. News & Radio had the honor of speaking to Bro. Marcus Jones, the outspoken and passionate father of Jena 6's Mychal Bell for one hour on Sunday evening April 27, 2008...Unfortunately, the news wasn't all good... His son is currently serving his second straight year of jail time and is still facing more additional jail time...His son's former lawyer, Louis Granderson Scott mislead Mychal into making a horrible plea which left Mychal and his family vulnerable to lawsuits from the Barkers and other interested parties...And on top of all this madness, the five other boys have yet to have their day in court...Yet, it seems the public or rather the powers that be are Jena 6 fatigued...

Listen To The Latest Marcus Jones Interview (The Interview Is The First Hour Of Show) In Its Entirety By Clicking On The Following Link:

Although thousands of folks gathered from around the country in a show of solidarity on Sept. 20, 2007 in Jena,La, anything of significance or resembling true justice has yet to be materialized from that spirited rally...We will be approaching the one year anniversary of that protest soon and yet there is nothing that was accomplished as of this date to truly be proud of in terms of progress... Black folks must realize that we can not continue to speak and demand justice and yet only receive and accept charity...We must realize in the words of the late Rev. Ralph Abernathy 's beautiful wife, Sis. Juanita Abernathy, that you can't beg and fight at the same time...We also must have the courage and the resolve to see things through their righteous completion...Otherwise we will continue to have missed opportunities for reconciliation, reparations and progress such as the Hurricane Katrina-FEMA travesty, the Jena 6, Sean Bell and others too many to name in this one article... A friend of mine once told me that he knew Blacks who felt that Blacks were getting punished by God for disobedience...I told him that God is Love, Knowledge & Understanding and that Hate, Ignorance and Greed Breeds Poverty, Hope and Despair...We must learn how to properly use and maintain our most powerful tool, our minds, to command and demand our bodies to do the work necessary to truly over come...Black folks don't make it because of, we make it in spite of!!!

God bless a child that got his own and God bless the child that is willing to share what he got!!!

Power to the people and as our Jewish Brothers and Sisters would say, Never Forget!!!

The following is Marcus Jones' official response to Attorney Louis Scott's condescending letter about fundraising as well as to the plea Attorney Scott "mislead" his son, Mychal Bell, into taking...

12 April 2008
In the Case of Mychal Bell
by Marcus Jones

Mychal Bell

Marcus Jones. I am the Father of Mychal Bell.
My son was arrested on December 5, 2006 on a charge of simple battery by the LaSalle Parish District Attorney Reed Walters and placed him in a Juvenile facility. On December 7, 2006 the LaSalle Parish District Attorney Reed Walters had Mychal
takened out of the Juvenile Facility and placed him in an Adult Jail and "upped" the charges on Mychal to Second Degree Attempted Murder and Conspiracy to Commit 2nd Degree Attempted Murder and his Bond was put at $90,000.00, set by Judge J. P. Mauffray.

on June 25, 2007 D.A. Reed Walters downgraded the charges from 2nd Degree Attempted Murder & Conspiracy to Commit 2nd Degree Attempted Murder, to Aggravated 2nd Degree Battery & Conspiracy to Commit 2nd Degree Aggravated Battery. Mychal was taken to trial on June 26, 2007. He was tried by an all-white jury and the jury found him guilty.

Attorney Louis Scott and associate Carol Powell-Lexing. (Courtesy photo)

Due to financial problems, some ministers In Monroe, Louisiana introduce me to Attorney Louis G. Scott; and he told me he would take Mychal's Case for me. This occurred on July 10, 2007. Every thing seemed fine with Attorney Scott. He got Mychal's sentencing date delayed from July 31, 2007 to September 20, 2007. Louis Scott had gained help and support from the National Black Caucus,, Harvard Law School, Howard University Law School, Southern University Law School and other law school, law firms & legal groups from around the country. Donations reached into the thousands of dollars were received
to defend Mychal by Attorney Scott.

On September 14 2007; the La. 3rd Circuit Court of Appeal overturned Mychal's Adult conviction on the basis District Attorney Reed Walters illegally put adult charges on my son, and illegally housed Mychal at sixteen (16) with adults. This is not something I'm making up, this is what the 3rd Circuit Court of Appeals said that they had did, wrong; for ten (10) months.

My son was locked up wrong. The 3rd Circuit Court overturned on the basis of the Judge's [Mauffray] ruling allowing D. A. Walters to do such an act in his court room, when he knew it

was wrong from the start. This is the second (2nd) illegal act done by D.A. Reed Walter. The first act was when he went to the school after the nooses was hung up on September 11, 2006. Reed Walters, told the black kids that he do not want to here nobody else say anything else about them nooses being hung up. He said if he do, he is going to make their 1ife go away with the stroke of a pen.

Now the Justice Department ignored that. If he had been a black D.A. And said that, where would you think he would have been? If Reed Walters had been Black and illegally took a white kid up as an Adult, tried him and convicted him as an adult, when the law [affirmed by the 3rd Circuit] said he was wrong, where do you think that black D.A. Would be at now. On September 2, 2007, they finally let my son Bond out on a $45,000.00 Bond. But my son was still not free, the judge ordered that my son was under house arrest and not to leave out of the yard. A week and a half later they locked my son back up saying that he had violated his probation. We

Well, if they new that why did they take the bail money and let him be bonded out and turn around and lock him right back up. Another (3rd) wrongful use of the law, what the judge done. But being lied to by my son's lawyers, telling me they were filling some motion to get the Judge removed, to which I had evidence to use to get the judge removed and my son's lawyers would not put it in play.

All of the while, I'm thinking my son's lawyers was using all the free [pro-bono] help, that was beinq offered to him. On November 6, 2007 My Son went to court for two (2) motion hearings, one for double jeopardy and no police report being done; which we [myself, his mother & the lawyers] knew we wasn't going to win in front of Judge J.P. Mauffray anyway. But this was done so that the motions would be takened and filed in the 3rd Circuit, [where they would have ruled in my son's favor] because the 3rd Circuit Court already had found one illegal act done by the D.A. And Judge. My son's lawyer, Louis Scott told me that he had filed the motions to the 3rd Circuit and that Mychal was going to be free then; when they make the ruling. It was on November 7,2007 when he [Scott] told me he had filed the motions.
On November 29, 2007; Louis Scott and Bob Noel came to my house with my son's mother and told us to get My son to take a plea. Right off the bat, I said no. Prior to the lawyers coming to my house, it was evident they had already talked to Mychal's mother and scared her in to telling Mychal to take the plea and scared Mychal in to taking the plea, by telling him if you don't, you're not going to be able to play football again. You're going to spend the five years setting behind bars, and things of that nature. I asked the lawyers what happened to the motions that y'all filed in the 3rd Circuit, Louis Scott said oh, I forgot to file them; I said, what, then he [Scott] turned around and said Peggy didn't finish the writ for to file it.

Then, I said wait a minute, something not right, you mean to tell me all of the help and resources that was at your disposal, this is no excuse, something is not right here! I didn't want my son to take the plea. Mychal mother did, but it came down to my son. At the plea hearing during the side bar, I get a call from a congresswoman that's well known. She told me she wanted to talk to Louis Scott or Carol Powell-Lexing to stop the plea hearing. I gave the phone to Carol Powell-Lexing, then she took the phone and gave it to Louis Scott. The congresswoman said Attorney Scott, should stop the hearing right now. Louis Scott, turned around and told her [Lexing]; why should I, I can't stop it, I got to go ahead with it, I can't stop it. This just doesn't sound right. The plea was taken. This is what the plea consisted of.

1.)Mychal would have to testify against the other five.
2.) That the case couldn't go back to appeal.
3.)That I would have to pay child support until Mychal turned 18.
4.) That Myself and Mychal mother have to pay the plea hearing court cost.
5.)That myself and Mychal Mother have to pay a part of Justin Barker's medical bill.
6.)That any previous motions that have been filed would have to be withdrawn.

In conclusion. What lawyer in their right mind would plea their client out under all these stupid agreements. It just puzzles me why they didn't file those motions to the 3rd Circuit Court of Appeal to free my son. And that, with all the resources that was at the lawyer's expense.
I just can't understand why Louis Scott and Carol Powell-Lexing did not use Harvard University & Howard University and others. It just doesn't make any sense. This man was lying to me all
the while he was on my son case. Now I'm faced with the backlash for standing up for my son. Being pulled over. Having to pay child support for a son who is incarcerated illegally, by any one's common sense.

RE: MYCHAL BELL

Dear Mr. Jones:

Since you were unable or unwilling to pay any money for the defense of your son, it was necessary for me to engage in fundraising efforts to assist in raising funds for Mychal's defense. Most of the funds raised for the Mychal Bell Defense Fund were raised through my contacts in the Washington D. C. area. I cannot account for any funds given directly to you. I did receive some funds from the Jena Six Defense Fund and The Color of Change.

I am still in the process of paying off bills occurred as a result of this case including travel for fundrasing efforts. I will send you the information regarding those funds as soon as the remaining bills are received.

Since Mychal's plea the attorneys have been working very hard to remove Mychal from secure custody to a place where his life can be somewhat normal. I am happy that this was achieved.

I have not filed an answer to the civil suit filed against you because you did not instruct me to do, did not retain me to do so, told me that you did not like the way I handled your son's case, and told me that you did not need me to work on that case.

I am collecting the information from the other attorneys who worked with me. If you wish for them to total up all their hours and bill you, I am sure you will end up oweing over a hundred thousand dollars. They however agreed not to charge any more than the amount collected.

The Honorable Sis. Cynthia McKinney Speaks At West Coast May Day Work Stoppage - No Peace, No Work...

Hello! Today was a beautiful day. Longshore and Warehouse workers all up and down the West Coast, from the border with Canada to the border with Mexico, refused to go to work for eight hours and rallied against the war instead. This work stoppage included Los Angeles and Long Beach ports, the nation's busiest and second busiest ports, respectively. Grassroots members of the Democratic Party are unnerved at reports that Speaker Pelosi is planning yet another "blank check," war funding bill for the President's signature. Today's action of resistance marked a distinct signal in the heart of a core constituency of the Democratic Party that something is about to change. A representative of the Freightliner Five in North Carolina joined us in San Francisco as an act of solidarity, even as they struggle against their own corporate labor leadership. Work stoppages of solidarity were reported in New Jersey, Texas, and even in Iraq! One thousand marchers, Danny Glover, and Cindy Sheehan joined me at the rally. Here are my remarks:

Cynthia McKinney
ILWU Bay Area Remarks
San Francisco, California
May Day, 2008

It's a beautiful San Francisco day for a peace and dignity strike!

One day off to put peace and justice on the table! Today's action is as historically significant as the decision of four young university students who sat in for justice.

The strong, proud men and women of the ILWU have drawn a line in the sand. And I am proud of you!

By your actions here today, you too have declared your independence: from the policy makers now responsible for every bomb dropped, every child killed, every veteran maimed, every dream deferred.

Your line in the sand is a demand for public policy that reflects your values.

Your line in the sand:

A livable wage,

Repeal of the Bush tax cuts,

Repeal of the Patriot Acts, the Secret Evidence Act, the Military Commissions Act.

The right to unionize,

Single-payer health care,

Repeal of NAFTA,

An end to the Bush-Pelosi war.

Military Recruiters out and more teachers in our classrooms!

Nancy Pelosi wants to sneak another war-funding bill to the President. She thinks we don't know. She thinks we won't care. She thinks she can bushwhack and bamboozle us from the Speaker's Chair.

But Nancy, we're watching you! In fact, the whole world is watching. We see you when you choose to spend $720 million a day for war and yet teachers are being laid off in your district!

Speaker Pelosi, we see you when you remain silent on torture that violates the law; irreparably harms and sometimes even kills the innocent; and robs us all of our dignity as Americans.

Speaker Pelosi, and my former colleagues, how can you continue to give a half-trillion dollars annually to the Pentagon—an institution that's "lost" $2.3 trillion, and that didn't even protect itself on September 11th?

Republican President Dwight Eisenhower told us that every dime spent on war was in a very real sense a theft from those who are in need of food, shelter, and clothing.

Senator Feinstein was forced to leave the Military Construction subcommittee because she was voting on public policy that directly benefited her husband. And hence, her own bottom line.

The ILWU and all of us gathered here today want our young men and women to come home now—alive.

All of us gathered here today understand what George Washington warned of over 200 years ago: He warned us to beware the false patriots who, by cunning and ambition subvert the power of the people and usurp for themselves the very reins of government.

Snipers' bullets and assassins stole my generation of true patriots. One of them said, "A man can't ride your back unless it's bent." Our representatives can betray our values only so long as we continue to give them our vote, because it is our votes that give them their position of power over us.

Another of my generation's true patriots said, "Some see things as they are and say why; I dream of things that never were and say 'Why not?'" With our vision, values, and our votes, we can make real our dreams that never were. Why not?

Thank you!

The argument that the two parties should represent opposed ideals and policies, one, perhaps, of the Right and the other of the Left, is a foolish idea acceptable only to doctrinaire and academic thinkers. Instead, the two parties should be almost identical, so that the American people can "throw the rascals out" at any election without leading to any profound or extensive shifts in policy.

7 Steps To Becoming A Guerilla Marketing Guru...

Seven Steps To Successful Guerilla Marketing In Rough Times

BY AUNKH AAKHU

More than 99 percent of black-owned businesses can be described as small businesses. They are literally the backbone of our community. Their success means job creation, more ownership and dollars that circulate and stay in our communities, critical elements for creating black wealth on a widespread level.

Unfortunately, most of these businesses lack crucial information on what it means to be a black business in America. For instance, there is talk now of a word that economists hate to use: Recession.

Nobody has confirmed that we are in a recession, but if you are a small, black-owned business, the economic downturn is having a dramatic effect on your bottom line.

Black businesses are usually the first to feel the effects of economic downturn. They feel it worse than others, and they feel it longer.

Here are seven steps about the “Guerilla Marketing’’ approach that allows small businesses to succeed in the midst of crisis:

1. Reality-based knowledge.
Base all your marketing decisions on the reality of the situation in which you find yourself, and not on wishful thinking. Always be open to learning more about your market.

2. Go against the current.
When things start going slowly in the business world, conventional wisdom says you should cut back on the marketing. This will only speed up your demise. If business is slowing down, and marketing is how you make money, then now is the time to focus not just on marketing, but on outstanding marketing. Your business should not die just because other people’s ventures will. Businesses that market aggressively and consistently usually survive the downturns. Sometimes, they even flourish during the downturns.

3. When you have less money, use more T.I.I.E.
If you don’t have a $100 million marketing budget, you can still use a small amount of marketing money successfully by focusing on more Time, Information, Innovation and Energy to compensate. This does take more of a commitment, but if you are willing, you will be able to create a low-budget marketing campaign that can have the impact of millions of dollars.

4. Don’t be afraid to get help.
Marketing is a science that everyone thinks they can do. The bottom line, however, does not lie. When should you consider getting professional help? When you are trying and you know it’s just not producing a good enough result. Building wealth is far more important than holding onto your pride. If you need help, let a good professional do it, or at least guide you to better results.

5. Give more.
When things get desperate, it sometimes becomes easy to focus only on your needs. But remember that you are in business to serve your market. Be generous with your clients and give them valuable information, free consultations, gifts, bonuses, etc. Go the extra mile, especially for your best customers, and watch your business explode.

6. Focus on relationship.
Remember that the goal of business is not the sale but the relationship. When somebody knows you, likes you, or trusts you, you can have a customer for life. So treat every customer like they are more than just the money to pay your rent. People feel that, and are turned off by it. Build a relationship by constantly adding value to the lives of your customers.

7. Find the hidden treasure chest in your business.
The greatest marketing cost for a business is getting new customers. The funny thing about this is that many people who have some customers are too busy wasting all of their time, energy and money looking for new customers. They don’t realize that the treasure lies in the customers they already have. People who have already spent money with you are the easiest ones to convince to do it again. Start thinking about new ways to market to your current customers. I bet you would be surprised by how much you can make from your current customers. You have been sitting on a golden egg all along.

Pioneering Loving Couple Finally @ Rest...

Mildred Loving, Matriarch Of Interracial Marriage, Dies
By DIONNE WALKER, Associated Press

She was 68. (AP Photo)

Mildred Loving, a black woman whose challenge to Virginia's ban on interracial marriage led to a landmark Supreme Court ruling striking down such laws nationwide, has died, her daughter said Monday.

Peggy Fortune said Loving, 68, died Friday at her home in rural Milford. She did not disclose the cause of death.

Loving and her white husband, Richard, changed history in 1967 when the U.S. Supreme Court upheld their right to marry. The ruling struck down laws banning racially mixed marriages in at least 17 states.

They had married in Washington in 1958, when she was 18. Returning to their Virginia hometown, they were arrested within weeks and convicted on charges of "cohabiting as man and wife, against the peace and dignity of the Commonwealth," according to their indictments.

The couple avoided a year in jail by agreeing to a sentence mandating that they immediately leave Virginia. They moved to Washington and launched a legal challenge a few years later.

After the Supreme Court ruled, the couple returned to Virginia, where they lived with their children Donald, Peggy and Sidney.

Richard Loving died in 1975 in a car accident that also injured his wife.

In a rare interview with The Associated Press last June, Loving said she wasn't trying to change history — she was just a girl who once fell in love with a boy.

"It wasn't my doing," Loving said. "It was God's work."

Why Obama Did The Wright Thing And How Rev. Wright’s Selfless Sacrifice Save The Obama Presidency…

Tha Artivist Reports…Special To W.E. A.L.L. B.E. News & Radio...

"A son can bear with equanimity the loss of his father, but the loss of his inheritance may drive him to despair."

"A wise ruler ought never to keep faith when by doing so it would be against his interests."

---Niccolo Machiavelli

Trinity United Church of Christ/Religion News Service
In Chicago, Mr. Obama embraced Christianity under the tutelage of the Rev. Jeremiah A. Wright Jr., known for sometimes inflammatory views.

When Obama finally rejected and denounced his Spiritual Advisor and Father, the bombastic, controversial and edutaining Rev. Jeremiah Wright, America or shall I say White America breathed a sigh of relief…

Now White folks can vote for or against Obama in peace without worrying about that nagging and pesky race issue in the race…People are drinking the Rev. Jim Jones made Kool-Aid if you think Rev. Wright was an issue or distraction in this rather historical and very important Presidential campaign…

The job of The Messenger or Prophet is to put The Truth on display and make it accessible or readily available to the masses…The Truth nor The Prophet by their own respective natures cannot cater to any popularity contests or opinion polls…The Truth is what it is and The Prophet is what he/she is...What The Truth and The Prophet possess can’t be bought or bossed…Both are so transcendent that they can't be hidden and so buoyant that they can’t be drowned out in cynicism, ignorance and indifference (remember Jesus walked on water)…

Rev. Wright being the Prophet and brilliant strategist that he is gave Sen. Barack the easy way out…He allowed Barack to throw him under the bus by giving him the clear cut motives to do so…

Rev. Wright is an Ancient…He is playing the role of a Modern Day African American Trickster-god or Eshu, teaching all of us whether we realize it or not, some important lessons and rules in this game we play known as life...He possesses an innate understanding of human nature and the human condition…So does his pupil Sen. Barack Obama…He knew many Whites perceived Sen. Barack as weak because he wouldn’t separate from his mentor even if it would cost him lost votes among older and more prejudiced White voters…Rev. Wright in the tradition of Socrates and Jesus knew that in order to save the Barack Obama Presidency as well as America from its racist and hypocritical self that it would be up to him to fall on the symbolic sword, drink the poison, and get on the cross to make the ultimate sacrifice in terms of not necessarily his physical being but the sore corporate media induced mis-perception and mis-conception of his honorable yet complex character…

A Prophet Is Always Without Honor In His/Her Home Country…

Rev. Wright being crazy (like a fox) knew that Barack would gain many White votes by condemning him in public, but could possibly lose a certain portion of the Black Vote, especially those Blacks who still revered Rev. Wright and his message regardless of the negative backlash by the corporate media…

So once again Rev. Wright made it easier for Obama to do the necessary deed...

In his supposedly comedic and outlandish performance at the National Press Club last Monday, Rev. Wright suggested that an attack on him is actually an attack on The Black Church…Needless to say his comments pissed off a contingent of the Black Church’s leaders, saints and sinners who didn’t like being monolithic under the visage of the outspoken and audacious minister…Men and women of the cloth made their rounds on pundit t.v. and talk radio, as if they were taking up tithes and offerings, soundly rejecting and denouncing Rev. Wright themselves…

Some of the folks were actually envious of Rev. Wright’s ministerial work and dare I say legacy for producing such an amazing once in a generation political superstar such as Barack Hussein Obama…

Also needless to say some in the Black Church community were eagerly awaiting and praying for divine intervention to separate Barack from his minister so that they could eventually make room for themselves by Barack’s side and in his inner circle…

Rev. Wright knows firsthand how divisive and crablike we are as a people…Negroes love divisiveness like flies love you know what…

He was more than willing to piss off the Black Church in order to keep Barack’s Black support intact…

A Master Stroke From A Master Artist…

I wouldn’t be surprised after some time has passed, after Barack served two consecutive terms as one of our most admired and greatest presidents that a document, say a book for example, comes out detailing the strategy or method behind the madness to the Obama-Wright feud…

Trust me when I say that this so-called feud is more WWE (World Wrestling Entertainment) posturing rather than Old Yeller tragedy…

Rev. Wright has done an excellent job in deceiving the masses for their betterment and enlightenment…I almost feel a little guilty in exposing Rev. Wright’s brilliantly executed plan…Almost…

Some people would ask how much did Obama know about this strategy???

It’s hard to say really…Maybe he was an innocent...That would explain his emotions and body language in his press conference to reject and denounce Rev. Wright as well as his and his wife’s sad facial expressions on their NBC Today Show interview…Maybe Rev. Wright shielded him from this phase of the plan…Rev. Wright also had faith that Obama would respond accordingly...I think if people want to know how Rev. Wright truly feels about Barack Obama the man and politician, then they should read his letter to NY Times writer Jodi Kantor whom he felt misrepresented him and his relationship with Obama in her March 2007 article about the minister and his famous congregationalist…

Please click the following link to read the letter in its entirety:
http://weallbe.blogspot.com/2008/03/rev-wrights-open-letter-to-jodi-kantor.html

Wright-Obama relationship is more Malcolm v. Martin rather than Malcolm X v. Elijah Muhammad…Both of these men are on the same team tackling the same problems, but both are doing it in their own unique way through their own unique perspectives…In a way their roles are reversed, with the Prophet playing the Politician and the Politician playing the Prophet…

Very Machiavellian even if it isn’t intentionally so…And by any means necessary if the means surely justify the ends…

In contrast the rift between Malcolm and his Spiritual Father Elijah Muhammad was very painfully real and was helped along by a bunch of middle men who were envious of their relationship…People who are aiding in what they think is the destruction of an otherwise beautiful if at the moment strained relationship between The Minister and The Congregationalist will be surprised…This is not the end, but only the beginning…

The Martin & Malcolm Connection...

"I want Dr. King to know that I didn't come to Selma to make his job difficult. I really did come thinking I could make it easier. If the white people realize what the alternative is, perhaps they will be more willing to hear Dr. King. "

(Malcolm X in a conversation with Mrs. Coretta Scott King in Selma Alabama less than three weeks before his assassination)

"You know, right before he was killed he came down to Selma and said some pretty passionate things against me, and that surprised me because after all it was my territory there. But afterwards he took my wife aside, and said he thought he could help me more by attacking me than praising me. He thought it would make it easier for me in the long run."

(Martin Luther King, Jr. about Malcolm X)

Literally weeks before he died, Malcolm met with Mrs. Coretta Scott King to let her know the true reasons for his difference of opinion with her husband in public…To paraphrase Malcolm he was trying to ease some of the pressure on Martin and deflect it upon himself…By his persona Malcolm was really aiding the solution and not the problem and in turn he was also giving a voice to the voiceless the same way that Dr. King was representing the voiceless on the other end of the spectrum…Public disunity was bringing internal unity among Black people everywhere…This is what Sen. Barack & Rev. Wright are doing today…They are allowing all not just some of America to be heard for the first time on a National Platform…

Now’s the time to reconcile with the Hurricane Katrina tragedy approaching its 3 year anniversary, the growing prison industry complex, Jena 6, post-Sean Bell verdict, the dumbing down of our kids in the education system---30 kids in Chicago getting killed every year going to school and only 25% of Detroit's kids graduating from its public school system just to name a few eyesores, among other ills…Now's the time indeed for an intergenerational national conversation on race...

The Hypocrisy Of The Media…Min. Farrakhan Was A Guest Of Honor For Key Pa. Hillary Supporter!!!

Mayor Ed Rendell Introducing Min. Farrakhan To Philadelphia

Tha Artivist Reports…Special To W.E. A.L.L. B.E. News & Radio

“I like to thank the Nation of Islam here in Philadelphia…Thank you for what you stand for and all the good it does for so many people in the city of Philadelphia…This is a faith which has as its principle the family…This is a faith that doesn’t just talk about family values, it lives family values…This is a faith where men respect their women and children…” ---Gov. Ed Rendell then mayor welcoming Min. Farrakhan to Philadelphia in 1997

Check Out YouTube Video Showing Gov. Ed Rendell, The Number One Hillary Supporter in Pennsylvania Introducing Min. Farrakhan:

Part One

Part Two

In light of the Sen. Obama-Rev. Wright-Min. Farrakhan Controversy Triangle, the corporate bought and bossed media has once again failed or succeeded in not enlightening our gullible fellow American citizens on the eye-opening light of the truth!!! As evidenced in the previous video, Gov. Ed Rendell back in 1997 welcomed Min. Farrakhan as a guest of honor to the city of Philadelphia when he was the City of Brotherly Love’s mayor…This is two years removed from the highly successful and controversial Million Man March which was spearheaded by Min. Farrakhan and even gained the support from none other than number one Hillary Clinton surrogate, Bill Clinton, who was U.S. President at the time…If our media was so good at finding the Rev. Wright ‘God Damn America’ comments why have they been so sloppy or non-committal in reporting this story???

Trinity United Church of Christ/Religion News Service
In Chicago, Mr. Obama embraced Christianity under the tutelage of the Rev. Jeremiah A. Wright Jr., known for sometimes inflammatory views.

“When [Obama’s] enemies find out that in 1984 I went to Tripoli [to visit Muammar al-Gaddafi] with [Louis] Farrakhan, a lot of his Jewish support will dry up quicker than a snowball in hell."---Rev. Jeremiah Wright

White rage is such political b.s….Why didn’t Hillary reject and denounce Gov. Ed Rendell when this guy, who is also Jewish, was falling all over himself to give nothing but the highest of praises to Min. Farrakhan and his supposedly Anti-Semitic organization, The Nation of Islam??? The same Min. Farrakhan who supposedly called Judaism a gutter religion, Hitler a great man and who visited Muammar al-Gaddafi at Tripoli along with Rev. Wright back in 1984??? How can White America truly not be outraged at Gov. Ed Rendell???

Rev. John Hagee & Sen. John McCain

“Most readers will be shocked by the clear record of history linking Adolf Hitler and the Roman Catholic Church in a conspiracy to exterminate the Jews.”

"All hurricanes are acts of God because God controls the heavens. I believe that New Orleans had a level of sin that was offensive to God and they were recipients of the judgment of God for that." ---Both Quotes By Rev. John Hagee

How can White America be mad at Rev. Wright for God Damn America when a major Sen. John McCain supporter and respected clergyman, Rev. John Hagee, said God already did so with Hurricane Katrina flushing out the sins of the 21st Century Sodom and Gomorrah known as the City of New Orleans…Rev. Hagee said the reason why it happened was because God was punishing the Crescent City for its high level of sin and organizing a Gay Pride Parade which was going to take place that Monday (Aug. 29, 2005) when the levees broke…He also stated in so many words that the Catholic Church is “a Great Whore”…Considering America’s recent love affair with Pope Benedict XVI and the Catholic Church, where’s that flaming self-righteous White Rage??? How has Sen. John McCain and Rev. John Hagee obtained teflon status from the fair and balanced=whack corporate media conglomerate while Sen. Obama, Rev. Wright & Min. Farrakhan are used as clay pigeons on the American Hypocrisy shooting range???

How has Rev. Wright and Min. Farrakhan earned the distinction of being racists when it is Rev. John Hagee who, through his own words and actions, practices religious intolerance, racism (Why are Black lives o.k. to sacrifice for sins in Hurricane Katrina vs. White lives lost in 9/11???), homophobia and xenophobia (remember Rev. Wright said ‘different not deficient’)…

Because the corporate media is not interested in truth, it is more interested in ad revenue and keeping the American people at each other throats over wedge issues, especially ones that do not carry much substance at that…Divide and conquer is the rule…But Pres. Lincoln said a house divided against itself can not stand…And this is why the American Corporate Media is afraid of the Presidency of one Barrack Hussein Obama…He comes from the land of Abraham, Abraham Lincoln that is…He is the messenger of the new politics of Lincoln refined for 21st Century consumption…He comes with a message of hope, reconciliation and progress…In order for that to occur many things which have been cloak and dagger for years will have to become transparent …That means many things such as the lies and deception which has been spoon fed to Americans for generations will become exposed and done away with…Those with things to hide and lose are in a panic state and will be scattering like roaches once the light comes their way…Many of us in this country don’t realize that Change Already Came…These are not the end times as we have been taught…This is only the beginning of something new…
