Kenneth (Kanko) Bowens was born in Paris, Texas and lived on a small farm until he was seven. He received a B.A. in psychology at Central State University (Edmond Oklahoma); then worked as a therapist for eight years. Later he earned an associate degree in electronic design/computer technology. A lifelong activist he has have facilitated conversations/discussions on race relations in America. Kanko an improv artist and actor has written and produced three plays. He was an original member of The African American Writers Alliance and is apart of the "African American Online Writers Guild". He's also has written reviews for "The G.R.I.T.S", an online book review and discussion group. He has lived in Seattle, Washington, but is now back home in Oklahoma.
